Custom Timers in Detail

Catch the Ghost is an app built entirely upon peer-reviewed behavioral psychology and brain science. Our goal is to help you create a better you and accomplish your goals, by making it easy for you to condition your brain and behavior towards peak productivity. We’ll provide positive reinforcement for good study habits, and negative reinforcement, or no reward for bad habits. Take custom timers for example. You can choose to run a 120-minute timer for 36 coins and one apparition, or you can choose to run four 25 minute timers for 36 coins but receive four apparitions! The healthier thing for your brain is to do four timers and take a 5 minute break in between. During your break, you should get up, walk around, stretch, or drink a glass of water. You’ll be more focused and productive if you do it this way.

But there are those of you who naturally have high levels of focus, and insist on longer timers. We now accommodate you too. You now have the choice for one apparition or four, for the same level of work. This is one of the many ways we use gamification to gently incentivize more healthy and sustainable habits. Easter Eggs

What are Easter Eggs? We mark an apparition as an Easter Egg if it has ultra beautiful AI art, a historical photo that includes another famous ghost in our library, a historical painting or photograph of that ghost as a child, a surprising or epic quotation, AI serendipitous art accidents (like Gregor Mendel as “Darth Mendel”), knock-knock jokes (yes, for real), good trash talk from that ghosts rivals/critics/enemies.

Easter Eggs are valuable collectibles within the game. If you would have earned 9 coins normally, the 1.5 multiplier will give you 9 x 1.5, or 13 coins. If you would have earned 100 coins for catching a ghost, that final apparition will now be worth 100 x 1.5, or 150 coins.

Easter Eggs are a fun surprise to break up the monotony of your work and study routines, and we hope they put a smile on your face, and a skip in your step.
